It is a credit product. Repaying the full statement balance on time is central to making purchase cashback worthwhile; interest and charges can outweigh a small reward. Bank transfers and cash withdrawals can carry different interest treatment from purchases.

Who can apply for Capital on Tap?
Capital on Tap currently accepts UK-registered Ltd companies, LLPs and PLCs. The applicant must be an active director or shareholder with at least 25% ownership and resident in the UK. Sole traders and ordinary partnerships are not eligible. Approval is subject to assessment, industry restrictions and credit history.
The current card eligibility guide has no minimum trading-history requirement. However, the referral programme terms still specify £24,000 minimum annual turnover. A new company being eligible to apply does not by itself establish eligibility for this referral bonus.
A personal guarantee is required. The application uses a soft personal credit search; signing the agreement triggers a hard business credit search. Read the offered rate and agreement before accepting.
Is Capital on Tap safe and regulated?
Yes. Capital on Tap is operated by New Wave Capital Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under two registrations: FRN 625592 for consumer credit activities and FRN 900922 under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011. The company was founded in London in 2012 and now serves over 200,000 businesses across the UK and US.
How does the Capital on Tap rewards programme work?
Card purchases earn 1 point per £1; 100 points are worth £1 in cashback. The Free tier converts 10 points to 8 Avios or Virgin Points. Pro costs £299 a year, offers 1:1 conversion and 1.25% cashback on preloaded spending. Its separate 10,000-point introductory bonus requires £5,000 card spending in the first three months. Pro is not needed for the standard referral offer.
What are the Capital on Tap referral terms and conditions?
The referee (you) must be a brand new Capital on Tap customer who has never previously held an account. You must apply using the referral link, be approved for a card, and make at least one transaction within 30 days of activating your card. The bonus is either £75 statement credit or 7,500 reward points, depending on your preference. Both the referrer and the new customer receive the same bonus. Referrers can earn up to 10 referral bonuses per calendar month and 100 in their lifetime. Terms were last updated 29 April 2025.
How long does the Capital on Tap referral bonus take?
The referral terms allow up to one month after the first qualifying transaction. Make that transaction within 30 days of card activation. Approval alone does not earn the bonus; do not rely on same-day payment.
